The Great Legal Reformation – 11/04/2017

The successful law firm of 2025 will emerge from the choices made by law firm leaders today. In order to create competitive advantage and deliver superior financial returns, law firms need to understand and adapt to the changing ecosystem in which they now live, as well as forecasting what that ecosystem will look like 10 or more years down the road; long term vision and strategy have therefore never been more important for law firms.

In association with Coventry University and Brethertons LLP we invite you to join us as Mitch Kowalski, examines the challenges law firms face now and in the future. Mitch will then use this perspective to suggest a provocative model for the successful law firm of 2025.
This event will allow young aspiring lawyers can take a glimpse at what the future holds for their careers.

Speed Networking – 30/03/2017

Following last year’s success the Warwickshire Junior Lawyers Division, in association with Santillo Consulting, will be hosting this years Speed Networking event.

Networking can be one of the most powerful and productive activities an individual can to do launch and manage their career, but it can be quite daunting especially if you are unfamiliar with such events. However, speed networking has recently emerged as a more laid back variation to traditional business networking and can provide exposure to a lot of people in a short amount of time.

Join us on Thursday 30th March at The Star & Garter in Leamington for a fun and interactive evening where you can hone your networking skills, whilst enjoying some drinks and really get to know your fellow group and wider Law Society members.

Book your place now, as there are only a limited number of places available!*

*If after booking your place you are unable to attend, please let us know so that we can allocate your place to someone else.

Merry Christmas

As 2016 draws to a close, the Warwickshire Junior Lawyer’s Division held their last event of the year, which was also the launch of their Awards to celebrate the achievements of Junior Lawyers in the Region!

Firms were asked to nominate standout individuals and after some tough debating, the winners were announced at the Warwickshire JLD’s Christmas Curry!

The Awards were kindly sponsored by Santillo Consulting. Claudia of Santillo Consulting has said that it was a pleasure for her to be involved and that she was very excited to announce the winners, hoping that this will be the first of many awards.

Vangeya Murphy, of Shakespeare Martineau was awarded WJLD Solicitor of the Year. She stood out for many reasons, but it what was most impressive was that Vangeya is regularly involved in marketing and CSR, and has built up marketing events to a high standard and created strong relationships. She is also a trustee for a Charity and has set up a mentoring scheme for young girls.

WJLD Trainee Solicitor of the Year was award to James Leighfield of Band Hatton Button. James was another stand out nominee. His creativity with marketing by building his blog showed that he has gone above and beyond with CSR. His natural flair for IT skills and a passion to improve his firm with new processes also demonstrated his intention to stay within the legal market in Warwickshire.

2016 has been a great year for the Warwickshire JLD; the Committee and the Database are growing, Laura Stuart, the Chair of the Group was crowned Young Lawyer of the Year and the Warwickshire Law Society Annual Dinner and the Group have successfully launched their own awards!

Merry Christmas from all of the Committee  and keep your eyes on Warwickshire JLD’s social media to see what they will be getting up to in 2017!
